For your consideration… Do
you know someone who is demonstrating commitment and extraordinary leadership in volunteer service? Who in your organization
is making a significant impact in the community through service--and empowering others to do the same? We are approaching
the first anniversary of the passage of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act,
the most comprehensive and expansive service legislation since Franklin Roosevelt's Presidency. In celebration of this Act
that is changing the face of volunteerism in America, and in honor of the legacy of Senator Kennedy, the University of Phoenix
and Points of Light Institute will recognize 10 outstanding volunteer leaders who motivate others and are a true catalyst
for change in their communities. These volunteer leaders will be nominated by the public and finalists will be selected by a diverse panel
of judges and honored during National Volunteer Week. Nine of the 10 finalists will be awarded $10,000 to donate to the nonprofit
organizations of their choice. The top honoree will receive $15,000 to donate and
will be recognized at the first ever L.E.A.D. Summit presented by University of Phoenix
and Points of Light Institute in Washington D.C. on April 20, 2010. Take the time to honor a volunteer leader who exemplifies the
ideals of Senator Kennedy--leadership, vision, creativity and generosity--and encourage others to do the same. How Do I Nominate Someone? It's easy. To nominate someone for the
University of Phoenix Volunteer Leader Award, complete the online nomination between February 4 and March 10. You can also
nominate yourself. To be eligible for this award, nominees must have been engaged in service as a volunteer leader for
at least two years and made a great impact in the community. For further information or to read the nomination rules, please
